… Studium Generale | Lezing, Engelstalig 26 september 2022 20:00 - 26 september 2022 21:30 The pelvic floor is a sort of hammock of muscles that shuts off the pelvis and supports the bladder, the rectum and – in women – the womb. If this muscle group is functioning well, you don’t notice it. But your pelvic floor can cause numerous problems that we prefer not to discuss with others because of shame or taboo: problems with bowel movements, for example, and with having sex. The pelvic floor … plays an important role in building up sexual excitement and during orgasm. The sexual function and experience can be affected by too much muscle tension, as well as too little. In her lecture, sexologist Marieke Dewitte explains how this obscure group of muscles works, why it is important, how problems arise and how they can be solved. … Zoekresultaten Studium Generale | Film & Talk, Engelstalig 16 maart 2022 19:30 - 16 maart 2022 21:30 Rules of War is a report of the spectacular journey through the South Sudanese jungle by former diplomat and military expert Albert Schoneveld (50), who will teach war ethics on behalf of the Red Cross to rebel groups. On the one hand, the film shows how a Western ideal finds its way into the unruly African reality. On the other hand, it is a social deconstruction of a metaphorical encounter between two worlds. A clash between the west and Africa. Between white and black. Between a colonial history and a post-colonial perception. After the movie, Wim Muller will give a short introduction on international humanitarian law and the role of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (ICRC). Albert Schoneveld will join him on stage for a discussion on Rules of War and his work for the ICRC. Albert Schoneveld is a Dutch former diplomat and military. …
