The ITEM annual conference will focus on the importance of cooperation between border regions, both within and outside Europe. Cross-border cooperation is crucial for livability in border regions, especially in the context of European integration. Multilevel governance plays an increasingly important role here. The conference offers an in-depth insight into the historical background of European integration and discusses current attitudes, also in light of the 2024 European Parliament elections. We hope to explore with you how to achieve sustainable and liveable border regions, with a focus on strengthening Europe's internal borders and their challenges.
