His research at the department of Rheumatology (MUMC+) is focused on axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), a chronic rheumatic disorder that mainly affects the lower spine. In the management of axSpA, so-called “disease activity” is an important outcome. Treatment guidelines recommend to aim for remission or low disease activity, typically by suppressing inflammation. In current practice, however, even patients who achieve this target can still have substantial symptoms. Examples of such residual symptoms are pain … to collect. The MCEL/RENFORCE webinar brought together academics and policy-makers to comment the New Pact on Migration and Asylum released by the European Commission on the 23rd September 2020. The Pact’s constitutional design, its reception by the co-legislators (Council and European Parliament), the evolving role of EU agencies at the external borders, co-operation with third countries, solidarity, and emergency management were some of the issues that were debated.
