" Private partnerships in early modern Antwerp " Faculty of Law Deze dissertatie behandelt personenvennootschappen in vroegmodern Antwerpen (1621–1791) vanuit een rechtshistorisch … functies die vennootschappen konden vervullen in een vroegmoderne samenleving. Op basis van een analyse van een steekproef bestaande uit 221 notariële vennootschapscontracten en 20 onderhandse contracten blijkt dat vennoten gebruikmaakte van het rechtsbeginsel van contractvrijheid om binnen maar ook deels buiten het bestaande wettelijk kader een vennootschapscontract te vormen.
