Against this backdrop, the broad aim of this workshop was to take stock of the state of affairs of EU democracy in times of crisis. More concretely, two ‘main channels’ of EU democracy were explored: parliamentary democracy, with both national parliaments and the European Parliament being in the ‘spotlight’; and civil society/citizen involvement.
