On Thursday, 28 June 2018, the Maastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law will celebrate its 25th anniversary in the form of a full-day conference at Chateau Neercanne in Maastricht. The anniversary event will feature interesting panels composed of high-level academics discussing the subjects of EU law, comparative law and legal publishing in a beautiful setting. Upon invitation of the department of international law from The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow, Prof Dr Marjan Peeters attended the XVI Blischenko conference on Public international law, which this year was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. -

On the 20th of April Aachen-Maastricht Institute for Biobased Materials (AMIBM) hosted its third international conference on Applied Biobased Materials (ABC). This year's theme was: Biobased Materials for Innovations in Fibre Applications. It was an inspiring day for all 130 visitors.

The UM campus in Brussels is expanding and opened a new, larger building on Monday 23 April. Since its launch in 2010, the campus has served as a networking hub and a meeting place for researchers, students and alumni, enabling them to expand their networks and reinforcing UM’s European profile.
