Education at Maastricht University

Students at Maastricht University can count on high-quality education with an international focus. We take pride in our Problem-Based Learning system and our Centre for Teaching & Learning, EDLAB, ensures continuous enhancement of our educational offerings.

International university

Maastricht University (UM) is proud of its international study body. About 50% of our students come from abroad, making UM the most international university in the Netherlands.

The majority of our programmes embrace international themes and are taught either entirely or partly in English. We prepare our students to become Global Citizens. Our academic staff are also highly diverse, with roughly 40% coming from abroad. Further, each year UM welcomes hundreds of foreign exchange students, while almost 40% of our own students participate in study-abroad programmes.

Thanks to our many partner universities, and our participation in networks, associations and platforms such as Young Universities for the Future of Europe, the World Universities Network and the Young European Research Universities Network, Maastricht University puts the world at your feet.
