Another great performance by our students at Maastricht University Faculty of Law, finishing second in the IBA ICC Moot Court at the International Criminal Court in The Hague 2023. Many congratulations to the entire team, to Maraya being awarded best speaker and to coach Craig Eggett.

Our team from Maastricht University Faculty of Law won the 2023 Grand Final of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, ranking 1st out of 53 competing teams. Maastricht University was represented by Benedetta Talpo, James Sinatra, Sadie Kinnersley and Saskia von Landenberg. The team was coached by Sejla Imamovic and Mateus Correia de Carvalho. James Sinatra was also named Best Oralist of the Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, and Grand Final.

Ending the HIV epidemic for those most impacted: women in sub-Saharan Africa. That’s the goal of a collaborative project between Dutch and African researchers. The Dutch Research Council (NWO) and Aidsfonds recently allocated more than six million euros to fund their plans for the SPIRAL project.

A mere four out of every ten young children in the Netherlands eat enough fruit and vegetables, and the number of overweight children in this country is rapidly increasing. Kokkerelli believes this needs to change, and is conducting research on hot, vegetable-rich school lunches combined with teaching materials for the Youth, Nutrition & Health program.
