The Maastricht University Faculty of Law team won the Helga Pederson Moot Court Competition last year. Time to look back on this great journey.

Andrea Parziale came to Maastricht University’s Faculty of Law for his Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship to research the differing damages in Europe and how to make it more equal.

Considering the master’s programme Epidemiology at Maastricht University? As a student, you’ll join a broad one-year programme that continuously strives for improvement. After graduation you’ll be eligible to become certified as an Epidemiologist A, and after obtaining a PhD in epidemiology at the Department of Epidemiology at Maastricht University you’ll be eligible to become certified as an Epidemiologist B. Those are the conclusions of the visitation report by the Netherlands Society for Epidemiology

The perfect recycling of plastics from household waste is one step closer, thanks to research into quality monitoring at all stages of the recycling process. The University of Maastricht, the National Test Centre Circular Plastics, and their collaborators have received a government subsidy of over EUR 2 million, which will accelerate their research.

Concentration problems. Troubles with planning. Quickly getting distracted. These are all familiar symptoms of ADHD. More and more UM students report ADHD problems to Disability Support. In what ways is ADHD getting in the way of studying? And how can you reduce ADHD symptoms during your studies? We talked about these issues with Sigrid Péters and Kristie Stoelers, who both work at Disability Support, and biological psychologist dr. Martijn Arns of Brainclinics Foundation. Arns has observed an important relation between ADHD symptoms and sleep.

Due to the occupation of some of the FASoS buildings, FASoS will be closed until further notice. There will be no teaching on-campus today and we are looking into whether classes can move online. Our students will be informed about the closure of our buildings and the consequences this has on teaching shortly. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.

UM is still in dialogue with the protesting students that are involved in today's occupation of the FASoS building. The aim is and remains 'de-escalation', and the safety of everyone involved comes first. At the same time, we want to ensure that we can fulfil our primary task, education and research, without restraint, in all faculties and as quickly as possible.

We hope to be able to provide clarity today as to whether this will succeed. Once we know more, we will inform you with a new update.
