Belén Gracia (M.B.)
Belén Gracia is a PhD Candidate at Maastricht University, Faculty of Law. Her research explores the intersection between international law and the circular economy in plastics, with a focus in developing countries. Her PhD is under the supervision of Prof. Dominic Coppens, Dr. Iveta Alexovičová and Dr. André Nunes Chaib.
Belén holds a master's degree in Globalization and Law with specialization in international trade and investment law from Maastricht University, a master’s degree in Law and Economics from Torcuato Di Tella University (Argentina) and a Law degree from University of Buenos Aires (Argentina).
She has ten years of professional experience as an international lawyer specialized in international economic law, and policy expert. She has offered independent consultancy services to international organizations, financial institutions, governments, NGOs and private enterprises. She was Director of Trade Policy with MERCOSUR and ALADI at the Argentine National Ministry of Production, and trade negotiator for the government of Argentina. Currently, Belén is also the Director of Editorial Content at TradeExperettes.
Belén has designed and taught courses on matters related to public international law and international economic law, at both graduate and postgraduate levels, at University of Buenos Aires, and CAECE University. She has also participated as guest scholar in other academic institutions such as Austral University, El Salvador University, and the International Training Centre of the ILO.
