About

MIND’s mission is to position Maastricht University as a global thought leader on the societal consequences of digitalisation and automation. MINDS serves as a catalyst for collaborative research initiatives on the consequences of automation throughout the UM. The network offers a platform that enables researchers from across Maastricht University faculties to find each other, join forces, and:

  • Engage in collaboration on inter- and transdisciplinary research projects on digitalisation and automation and their societal consequences;
  • Secure funding for research programs on the consequences of digitalisation, both from second and third money sources;
  • Share resources and networks.

MINDS philosophy

By bringing together experts from a wide variety of scientific disciplines and stimulating interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, MINDS creates a stimulating interdisciplinary environment in Maastricht. The network unites expert scholars from various faculties, strengthens and supplements existing programs and institutes by creating the conditions for successful cross-fertilisation between scholars from relevant scientific disciplines.

MINDS is a platform that creates opportunities for researchers to find each other and work together. It does so by creating organic opportunities for researchers to meet and learn from each other’s work, by providing incentives for collaborative acquisition of funds and joint research, and by efficiently combining outreach activities.
