Inge Leunissen

I am interested in how we are able to exert (rapid) cognitive control over our actions. My research focuses on how communication takes place between the prefrontal cortex and subcortical structures during task switching and motor inhibition, and ways that we can modulate this communication. To this end, I combine neuropsychology with structural and functional neuroimaging (MRI, MRS, EEG, ECoG) and brain stimulation (DBS, TMS, tACS) approaches in healthy individuals and in neuropsychiatric disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and traumatic brain injury.
