H. Van Engeland

Hannes is a PhD student at FASoS and is interested in the history of French philosophy of science and technology. In his research he examines the impact of science, society and politics on philosophy of science and technology in France during the second part of the previous century. 

 

Expertises

Hannes' main interests are (history of) philosophy of science, historical epistemology, the work of Gaston Bachelard, history of science in Belgium, metaphysics, (history of) quantum mechanics, science and the political, philosophy of education, French epistemology, and philosophy of technology.


 

Career history

Hannes graduated as a Research Master of Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy, KU Leuven (HIW). He has worked at the Royal Academies for Science and the Arts of Belgium (RASAB) on project Bestor, a project on Belgian history of science. Currently he is a PhD student at FASoS where he does research on 20th-Century French Philosophy of Science and Technology.
