Mr Florian van Hout (F.J.C.)

Florian van Hout is working as a PhD candidate at Maastricht University's Department of Public Law. His researches the constitutional position of caretaker cabinets under the supervision of Prof Joost Sillen and Dr Eva van Vugt.

Florian studied law at Leiden University, where he obtained a master's degree in constitutional and administrative law (summa cum laude). His thesis on the regulation of the first, so-called 'exploratory' phase in Dutch cabinet formations was published as a 'top thesis' in the Dutch law journal Nederlands Juristenblad. Before starting his PhD research, he worked at the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Leiden University as a teaching and research staff member.
