Support for students with caring responsibilities
Studying is only one aspect of your life. Are you combining your studies with caring for your child or providing unpaid support to a child or adult? If so, explore together with your study adviser, what facilities and support UM can offer you. The study advisers are there to help you.
UM is proud to be a caring university. We know that it can be difficult to balance your caring responsibilities with your other commitments.
We therefore implement facilities and support to make it easier for you to combine your studies with your caring responsibilities. Some examples (all depending on your circumstances):
- Preferred scheduling
- Extra exam opportunity
- Adjusted exam location
- Right to use the lactation- and resting rooms
- Financial support if you incur a study delay due to special circumstances
We encourage you to inform your study advisor about these responsibilities as soon as possible to discuss the possibilities for support in case you need it. Check the overview of study advisers to find the one for your faculty or study programme.
