Studying outside the Netherlands
UM students, graduates and researchers may choose to go abroad for some time: to study, for an internship or for a research position. For some courses of study, time abroad is a mandatory part of the programme.
Start your preparations on time
If you go abroad to study, for an internship or for research, you should prepare well for your travel and stay. Start about a year before departure, especially if you are doing this outside the exchange programme of your faculty.
This may seem like a long time, but it will help avoid unpleasant surprises. There is a lot to take care of: you need permission, you must take care of the scholarship and possibly do an admissions test.
