Enéa, 20, is from Belgium and has a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Culture from Maastricht University.
‘’For me, this master’s program in Arts and Culture, specialized in Modern Political Cultural, is the “natural” continuation of my bachelor’s in Arts and Culture at Maastricht university.
Reaching the end of this program, I can confidently say that I am happy with the choice that I made to continue my studies at Maastricht University. When I finished my bachelor’s program, I felt a bit lost as though there was something missing or not complete yet. Therefore, I see this additional year as the last stretch of a four-years cycle. I feel like this year finalized a form of intellectual background that I can apply in many ways in the future.
The next step for me will be to study filmmaking and photography for a year. I see this as a different angle of arts and culture; the discovery of new mediums to express impressions of a surrounding environment. I don’t know where it will lead me – if anywhere –, but I can do it with the confidence that I already acquired strong qualifications during my four years of study at Maastricht university. Those qualifications are, in my opinion, greatly boosted by the skills I gained through PBL. With this teaching method, you learn how to actively listen to others and communicate in an efficient way. Those are skills particularly important for our future careers as well as for our democratic societies in general.
Overall, I would say that it was a very intense year, but also very rewarding!’’
