Recap of the very first UM Connect Day

Last Saturday 14 October, around 160 alumni and other professionals joined us for a day full of inspiration, new insights and chats with old classmates at the beautiful Tapijnkazerne. What a first edition it has been!

The inspiring presentation by prof. Mark Levels,  three rounds of breakout sessions and an engaging alumni panel talk gave many of us a lot of food for thought. AI, VR, intercultural communication at the workplace, Service Robots, coaching, communities of practice: the wide range of topics made for a diverse, dynamic programme. In between and afterwards, during the barbecue and drinks, there was enough time to catch up with fellow alumni and make new professionals connections.

Director Bouwien Janssen - Kuijpers kicked off the day and explained our new 'Lifelong Development' strategy, followed by an interesting presentation by Prof. dr. Mark Levels on how AI is going to change the future field of work. After the three sessions and the necessary coffee and 'vlaai', we closed the day programme with a panel discussion with three of our inspiring alumni: Jol Stoffers, Eddie Langeweg and Rebecca Eggels.

The response has been nothing but positive, and we hope to see you all again next year! Meanwhile, the alumni office continues organising events for their community all year round. Keep an eye on our event calender and your mailbox (update your data here).

Equity and Inclusion Programme
All proceeds will be donated to the new Equity and Inclusion Programme of the University Fund Limburg. The programme facilitates scholarships for underprivileged youth from the region, and supports projects focused on equality at UM. Curious about the programme, or do you want to make an additional donation? Check out UM Crowd
