Vacancy: Student employees for UnliMited
UM’s UnliMited-Students Network is looking for two enthusiastic and motivated students to support UnliMited in carrying out various tasks.
The network was established in the spring of 2021, for and by students with visible and/or invisible disabilities, chronic conditions, or neurodiversity.
The network strives for greater visibility, awareness, and increasing the participation and inclusion of students with disabilities within the wider UM community, organising activities and events to that end. The network focuses on student life and socialising by bringing the community together. Moreover, the #YouDoNotHaveToExplainToUs campaign on social media shows what the network stands for. Maastricht University’s Diversity & Inclusivity Office, and Disability Support, are closely involved in the UnliMited Network. For more information about the network, check out the following webpage.
By signing the letter of intent of the UN Convention for Higher Education Institutions on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in September 2020, the university has indicated that this topic sits high on the agenda.
Structure of UnliMited-Students Network
The two permanent student employees will work 4-6 hours a week, in addition to providing support and reinforcement, therewith ensuring the continuity of the network. The student network consists of a Core Team: active members who devote themselves 2-3 hours a week to UnliMited-Students, and who are involved in various committees with tasks related to external communication, recruiting members, and organising activities (e.g., Shared Study Sessions). There are of course also general members, for whom the network is intended. Students who join UnliMited-Students find, in addition to information and conviviality, an attentive peer, and space to share their stories. The two permanent student employees we are looking for will work closely with the Core Team, and will be supervised by the 'UnliMited Network' working group.

What are you going to do?
As a student employee you will:
- Handle all kinds of administrative tasks, such as processing emails, making a schedule, leading meetings
- Initiate promotional activities to recruit new members and maintain contact with members
- Draw up the annual plan
- Monitor the progress of the annual plan and consult with the parties involved
- Collaborate with related organisations and departments
- Represent UnliMited within the university and on a national level
- Help organise events and various activities, such as workshops and lectures
- Monitor and adjust the progress of the committees

What are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates with the following requirements:
- An independent student with a proactive attitude and a clear interest in the topics of the UnliMited-Students Network
- Affinity with the target group
- Registered as a student at Maastricht University and available for at least 1 year
- You like to plan and have organisational skills
- You have good written and oral communication skills in English, and you have at least practical knowledge of the Dutch language (level B1/B2)
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word

What do we offer?

- Approximately 4-6 hours per week with a contract via InterUM (scale 4 CAO-VSNU)
- Starting in September 2022

Please note:
- If you are a non-EU/EER student, you need a Dutch work permit (via UWV)
- You need a Dutch health insurance to be eligible to work in the Netherlands
- If you need to get health insurance, you may also be entitled to the subsidy (zorgtoeslag)
