Audio-visual services
Science Vision is an audio-visual service provider at Maastricht University. While Science Vision is technically part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (MUMC+), we also work for other clients both within and outside the university. This allows us to offer consistently competitive rates: while productions tend to cost thousands of euros elsewhere, we offer the same quality at a reduced internal rate.
Our services are not limited to audio-visual productions alone. We also develop various research tools and offer advice on the acquisition of audio-visual equipment.

Science Vision has years of experience in the aspects that play a key role in any audio-visual production.
Science Vision can provide or arrange all of these aspects for you: from the camera crew and the directors to professional equipment and creativity.
Science Vision has two fully equipped broadcasting studios, one of which with a chroma key wall. Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro ensure flawless post-production of your audio-visual materials with virtual no creative restrictions. Science Vision also has extensive facilities and equipment for on-site shoots, including a GFM Quad Dolly.
Graphics (After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator) and subtitles are provided in-house.
Footage and observation
Science Vision can record lectures and programmes and offer live online video streaming. Examples include student lectures or tutor training sessions. Production takes place in one of our studios or on-site at the lecture hall or classroom. We offer two streaming options: live or on-demand through our servers.
Observational footage of this kind can be made using one or more cameras. Time codes in the film ensure that each observer has access to the same, uniform time standards.
Learning tools and documentaries
Science Vision can create (interactive) learning tools for a range of academic settings: from instructional tutor videos and medical guidelines to safety instructions and themed documentaries.
With over 25 years of experience in the development of learning tools, Science Vision is a talented and reliable sparring partner when it comes to developing and designing new academic applications. Internet streaming
Science Vision can broadcast your audio-visual materials online. You determine the audience. You determine how your material is presented (multicast or on demand). You determine who, where and when it can be viewed.
This means you can broadcast your event live in HD quality anywhere in the world. This is not limited to large-scale events alone: small-scale presentations, lectures or instructional videos for people in other countries are all part of the possibilities. Fast, cheap, dynamic and environmentally friendly!

Remote conferencing, anytime, anywhere is possible thanks to modern video conferencing technology. It is the ideal way to efficiently discuss, train or provide technical support in these busy times. Tutors in Maastricht and students in Hasselt, Geneva or Brazil: contacts or colleagues from around the country and the world can actively participate in your conference through a high-quality HD connection
The method
Using professional HD technology, your online conference (IP) is possible in real time from anywhere in the world. The live transmission of digital files (e.g. PowerPoint® presentations or video footage) is just one of the many possibilities.
Science Vision offers multi-camera conferencing options and can take over the full production of your conference to leave the most professional and reliable impression on your discussion partner.
The costs
Science Vision offers video conferencing services at competitive rates that guarantee significant savings in terms of travel time. Internet connection is entirely free of charge, with the condition that the other participants also have professional conferencing equipment. These devices can be rented in most major cities or can be arranged via Science Vision.

Forensic research
With its professional infrastructure, Science Vision is perfectly suited to conducting forensic research. We are accustomed to working with confidential (medical) information and have the necessary professional software, hardware and knowledge this field requires. We work in close collaboration with the Maastricht Forensic Institute (tMFI), an expert in the field of forensic investigations such as DNA research.
Improving and analysing audio and visual material (e.g. photos, videos, camera footage and audio files) for criminal proceedings are just two of the possibilities. This may include identifying suspects or reading licence plates.
