Prof. Klaartje Peters receives KNAW grant for research on Local Governance
The Staatsman Thorbecke Fund of The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) has awarded a grant for a research project on ‘Strengthening the role of the local council’ by Prof. Klaartje Peters.
The grant, that will be partly spent on a postdoc for two years, aims to assess the accountability regime in Dutch local government, and to search for accountability practices elsewhere that could be useful for Dutch municipalities.
