RExPO22 conference on drug repurposing
RExPO22 is the very first installment in a series of international conferences on drug repurposing on September 2nd an 3rd in Maastricht.
The success rate in pharma with respect to new drugs is on a constant decline. We do not understand the cause of most diseases and consequently, drugs are imprecise with high numbers needed to treat. There is a translational gap from basic biomedical research towards application and a shortage of patient-relevant, investigator-initiated clinical trials.
The repurposing of already registered drugs, together with Systems Medicine’s approach to disease, offers opportunities for biomedical and clinical researchers and businesses to overcome all these roadblocks in a fast-track manner - in a few years, with low costs from chronic disease to precision cure and maximal patient benefit.
RExPO22 offers two days of keynotes from world-renowned experts and discussion around the future of drug repurposing.
