Faculty of Law team secures second place in regional round of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition
A team of students from the Faculty of Law at Maastricht University has achieved second place in the regional round of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition, held in Prague from 5 to 7 February 2025. This competition, focused on human rights law, brings together law students from across Europe to engage in high-level legal argumentation.
The Maastricht University team, consisting of Erin Behlić, Sun Liu, Ivor Mestrović, and Luísa Pimenta, delivered a strong performance throughout the competition. Their success was supported by the expertise and guidance of their coaches, Šejla Imamović and Valentina Golunova.
The final selection for the next stage of the competition, which takes place at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, will be announced in early March. Qualification is based on the total score, which includes both the oral and written components of the competition. Given the team’s performance in Prague, there is a strong basis for confidence in their prospects.
