This dissertation describes research conducted into different perspectives on genetic information in health care. One of the conclusions is that genetic information on an effective immune response against pathogens in the female reproductive organ may allow the diagnosis of infertility to be made more accurately. Research on the heel prick screening shows that progress can be made by an international exchange of information and a harmonisation of information relevant to policy. It is necessary to involve interest groups in both research and policy developments, because that is the only way to achieve successful and desired developments.
