Well-being week 2018

Official opening: University education, commitment and the search for the good life

One of the biggest questions university students struggle with is what they are doing at the university. It causes many students a great deal of stress and anxiety. After all, how can you study successfully if you don’t know what the purpose of your education is.

Some people think that the real goal of university education is for students to develop commitment, and a sense of who they are and what they believe to be important. In this presentation, we will explore this answer, and show how cultivating commitment can be a key to happiness and the good life.

UM Rector Magnificus will officialy open the well-being week 2018 followed by a lecture by Prof. Teun Dekker: University education, commitment and the search for the good life.
