Maastricht Global Entrepreneurship Week

Join the Global Entrepreneurship Week Maastricht from 14-17 Nov 2016!

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.

Under the theme of “I AM CHANGE” this year's GEW Maastricht brings world-class speakers on innovation, technology, sustainability, social entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship, and local entrepreneurs. Participants are invited to give insights and recognize their capacity to enact change through pioneering projects, innovative technologies, and interdisciplinary challenges.

This Week will also feature The Innovator’s Challenge, a hackathon-style competition challenging bright students to create an innovative commercial platform for the newest creative hub in Maastricht - Forza Fashion House. This event is free but registration is required.

On Wednesday, 16 November, GEW has organised a Start-up Market at Centre Ceramique, where more than 30 start-ups in the fields of VR, holograms, green-tech, social start-ups, slow-food concepts, and fashion start-ups will be present. During the market you can attend two workshops on business skills and campaign creation, or listen to inspirational keynotes from two prominent speakers. In the evening more than 150 business contacts of MC4E - together with students and start-up communities - are invited to network over the course of a delicious dinner and drink. The evening will end with a pitch competition in which one start-up will be awarded secure investments from a group of angel investors!

Speakers will include the founders of:

  • Tony Chocolonely
  • Oatly
  • Cristal Therapeutics
  • Grendel Games
  • Brainstudio
  • Arion
  • VR Peekaboo
  • BabyWatcher
  • SeaWave Technology.
