Event - Schokken in de energietransitie

How sensitive is our province to shocks in the energy transition?  How can we become more resilient for the future? Join the event, where we explore a way towards a resilient Limburg!

We are pleased to share with you the insights from the project Shocks and the Energy Transition, a project carried out under the SUM2030 program Transition to Fossil Free Society.

The energy transition is a bumpy process. So-called shocks can drastically affect the speed and direction of the energy transition. Shocks are unexpected events with a low probability but a high impact. Think, for example, of severe climate change (in terms of extreme heat, drought, or a combination of both), sudden trade conflicts, sabotage of energy infrastructure, and severe grid congestion, partly as a result of the energy transition.

Experts have developed shock scenarios tailored to the province of Limburg. These scenarios focus on various shocks that could impact Limburg's energy transition and explore the resulting action-reaction patterns.

During the deep dive on June 17, organised by the Transition Platform initiated by Maastricht University and Municipality of Maastricht, the shock scenarios will be shared and strategic lessons will be drawn. Experts, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders involved in the energy transition are invited to participate.

Participation is free. The event is conducted in Dutch.
Due to limited seating, we kindly ask you to register.
