BIZZ School - Case Competition for secondary schools

An educational competition to introduce your students to scientific and problem-based education at Maastricht University.

Since 2019, the School of Business and Economics (SBE) has hosted the BIZZ School - Case Competition for secondary schools. In cooperation with the School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University, BIZZ introduces school students to case studies on a scientific level through a competition. These case studies address, among other things, strategic challenges and management dilemmas with which the business world is confronted.

BIZZ Case Competition @SBE

This competition is inspired by our International Case Competition (ICC@M) were 2nd and 3rd-year bachelor's students of our School compete with different business schools all over the world to deliver and pitch the best case.

The starting point of the BIZZ School - Case Competition is an actual business case developed by the university. Students of the 5th or 6th year from profiles E&M + N&G will be invited to work on this case in groups. The team from your school will be sent to the 'final battle' at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. (In case many students participate in the competition within your school, the team with the best case will proceed to the finals.)

Programme (+ time commitment)

Three meetings at school ensure that students are prepared to develop a case study. After these meetings, the case study will be presented to a jury during the finals.

Meeting 2 Working on the case at your own school supervised by students* from SBE.
Meeting 3 Presentation of the results. In this meeting, the presentation techniques are refined under the supervision of the SBE.
Meeting 4 Finals at the School of Business and Economics where students present their case to the jury, teachers and family.

*SBE representatives and students organize the meetings in Dutch and/or English. However, English is the mandatory language for the presentations in the finals.
