Online workshop: Universal Design for Learning: From Theory to Practice

This introductory online workshop explores the background and core principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and their practical application to syllabi and course design. 

Participants will examine the UDL guidelines, discovering strategies to implement these principles to create a more effective and accessible learning experience. The session will equip you with practical tools to foster inclusive learning environments for ALL.

By the end of this online workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and explain the main principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL),
  • Apply UDL principles to syllabus and course design,
  • Develop a personalized action plan focusing on what you plan to incorporate into your work, what potential barriers/challenges you will face, and how the challenges may be addressed.
     

This activity may count towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) if relevant to your situation.
 

Please note that this online workshop takes place on 8 October 2024 from 16.00-17.30 CET. This is because of the time difference between Maastricht and the trainer.  The session is planned to be recorded. Thank you for understanding.
 

About the trainer:

Eunice Ofori holds a PhD in Curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on Instructional Design and Technology from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA.  Currently, Eunice works as the Associate Director for Instructional Design at the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT). She also serves as the Program Coordinator and faculty for the Master’s in Education program (Special Education Specialty) with the Teacher Preparations and Certification program at the School of Professional Advancement, Tulane University.
