Hij omschrijft zichzelf als ‘een redelijk rationeel wezen’. Wanneer hij woorden als ‘genieten’, ‘liefde’ of ‘eenzaam’ al in de mond neemt, corrigeert hij zichzelf onmiddellijk: “Nouja, liefde, groot woord. Laten we zeggen dat mijn affiniteit met de universiteit tot bloei kwam in Maastricht.” Na 25 jaar UM gaat Nick Bos met pensioen. De man die aanvankelijk een wetenschappelijke carrière ambieerde, maar ontdekte dat zijn betekenis misschien wel meer in het faciliteren van wetenschappers lag, kijkt terug op zijn werkzame leven.

Nick Bos describes himself as “a fairly rational person.” When he so much as mentions words like pleasure, love or lonely, he immediately corrects himself: “Well, love is a big word. Let’s just say my affinity with the university blossomed at UM.” In Maastricht, the man who initially aspired to an academic career discovered that his real gift lay in facilitating other academics. After 25 years at UM, Nick Bos is now set to retire.

Het eindrapport van het gezamenlijke AHRC Classical Music Network, een gezamenlijk project van het Sheffield Performer & Audience Research Center (SPARC) en MCICM, is nu beschikbaar. Tijdens dit project wilde het netwerk begrijpen hoe klassieke muziek deel uitmaakt van de kunstscène in verschillende steden, waaronder Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds en Liverpool in Groot-Brittannië, Graz, Oostenrijk en Groningen, Nederland.

The final report of the join AHRC Classical Music Network, a joint project between the Sheffield Performer & Audience Research Centre (SPARC) and MCICM, is now available. During this poject, the network aimed to understand how classical music forms part of the arts scence in different cities including Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Liverpool in the UK, Graz, Austria and Groningen, the Netherlands.

Het Maastricht Centre for the Innovation of Classical Music organiseerde op 30 mei 2024 samen met The Plant de workshop ‘Digital tech meets klassieke muziek’ bij de Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Deelnemers waren onder meer onderzoekers en studenten van FASoS, docenten van Conservatorium Maastricht en Zuyd Hogeschool en MCICM-onderzoekers.
