Recharacterising International Disputes: Exploring the Phenomenon of Multi-Fora Litigation
The global landscape has seen an uptick in the utilization of international and regional courts, with a broader set of norms and circumstances now subject to adjudication. This pattern raises questions about the reasons behind such recharacterization, the appropriate methods for judicial bodies to handle these cases, and the broader implications for the international legal order. This academic conference seeks to provide a forum to discuss these questions and to facilitate further research on this important and timely topic.

The Law Faculty of Maastricht University and the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights have the pleasure to organize an online seminar (in two parts) to celebrate the Theo van Boven Human Rights Prize awarded to dr. Arenas Catalán.
Video available. The Corona pandemic has shown that attention to tackling obstacles is achieved not only by streamlining regulations, but also by recognizing a border identity. A joint strategy and working together with partners on both sides of the border, each from their own background appears to be necessary to establish a structural approach.
The UM Data Science Research Seminar Series are monthly sessions organized by the Institute of Data Science, in collaboration with different departments across Maastricht University (UM). The aim of these collaborations is to bring together scientists from all over UM to discuss breakthroughs and research topics related to Data Science.
On June 19, the Centre for Gender & Diversity hosts a lecture series featuring Aslı Zengin on her new book, Violent Intimacies: The Trans Everyday and the Making of an Urban World. This event is co-organised with the Globalisation Transnationalism and Development (GTD) research programme. Aslı Zengin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Before joining Rutgers, she held postdoctoral positions at Brown, Harvard, and Brandeis Universities.
