Maastricht Science in Court (MSiC) is an Interfaculty Research Collaborative that aims to improve the Evidence Base for Legal Decision Making. It brings together researchers from the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The initiative aims to tap their collective expertise to come to a better understanding between forensic scientists on the one hand and public prosecutors, judges and lawyers on the other. It organises regular symposia and events to inform practitioners on advances in related fields and to hold interdisciplinary discussions on topical themes.

CIROC is an international centre for information and research on organised crime and the fight against it. The centre was founded in 2001 and is a form of co-operation between scholars of the departments of criminology at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), VU Amsterdam (VU), Maastricht University (UM), Utrecht University (UU), Tilburg University (UT, and the WODC, the Research and Data Centre of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. CIROC focuses on knowledge transfer from theory to practice and vice versa, and the disclosure of information about organised crime and the fight against it for Dutch audiences. The aim is to make the subject accessible for different groups (scientists and scientific institutions, central government, public prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, the judiciary and relevant free-professional groups) and to initiate a discussion.
