Pension fund ABP accepts offer from UM to share expertise

Pension fund ABP accepts the offer from Maastricht University to share scientific expertise that helps to make the investment portfolio more sustainable. UM made that offer in a letter to ABP in February this year. In that letter, UM asked pension fund ABP for a planned approach that will allow the fund to cut ties with sectors with a commitment to fossil fuels as soon as possible.

ABP board member Menno Snel accepted the university's offer in a radio conversation last weekend on regional channel L1 with UM president Martin Paul. Martin Paul says that UM wants to quickly meet with ABP in order to give shape to the support for the further sustainability of the pension fund which also manages the pensions of UM employees.
