Statement of Graduation
In some cases, you may not yet be in possession of the diploma needed to qualify for admission to a study programme at Maastricht University (UM) before the start of the study programme. If this applies to you and your diploma is from a non-Dutch institution, you will need to submit a Statement of Graduation and a certified copy of your final grades transcript with your application.

Please wait until the task ‘Send certified copy of diploma’ becomes active in the portal before taking any action regarding the Statement of Graduation. Please do not send in your graduation statement before you have graduated. Any documents you send us before your graduation date will NOT be taken into account.
Verification by your institution
Ensure that your educational institution endorses the Statement of Graduation and your final grades transcript with both:
- an original official stamp from your educational institution (as proof of authenticity) and
- an original signature from an official of your educational institution
Deadlines
The UM Graduation Statement must be received by the UM Admissions Office no later than:
- 31 August if you are starting your studies in September
- 31 January if you are starting your studies in February
Submitting your documents by post or email
You can provide UM with the required documents in one of the following ways:
- Have your educational institution email digital copies of the certified Statement of Graduation form and your final grades transcript to UM directly via digitaldiploma-ssc@maastrichtuniversity.nl.
OR
- Send the Statement of Graduation form and your final grades transcript to UM by post or courier.

Copy of your diploma required upon receipt
As soon as you receive your diploma at a later date, you will still need to send a certified copy of your diploma to the UM Admissions Office. You need to do this even if you have already started your study programme at UM.
Dutch diplomas
If your diploma is from a Dutch institution, you do not need to submit the Statement of Graduation. Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) will verify your diploma directly with UM.
Diplomas obtained before 2023
If your diploma was awarded before 2023, the UM Graduation Statement does not apply. Instead, you must submit a certified copy of your diploma.
