This week the Faculty received the sad news that on Friday 15 June 2018 Prof. Raoul van Caenegem passed away at the age of 90 in his hometown of Gent. Prof. Van Caenegem was a legal historian of worldwide renown.

Dr Bram Van Hofstraeten was appointed on 15 June as endowed chair of Legal History of the Limburg Territories (0,2 fte). He succeeds Professor Louis Berkvens, who will retire in July 2018.

On 1 June 2018, Joost à Campo will be appointed clinical professor of Transforensic Psychiatry (0.2 fte) at the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology. The chair position was created by Mondriaan.
