Dr Suzan van der Aa appointed Professor of Criminal and Procedural Law
As from 1 May, Dr Suzan van der Aa succeeded emeritus professor Gerard Mols as Professor of Criminal and Procedural Law at our faculty.

Suzan van der Aa worked at Tilburg University's International Victimology Institute (INTERVICT), where she arrived as a PhD student in 2005. Since 2015, she has been an associate professor at this institute.
Her research focuses on victim's rights within the framework of criminal procedural law. She has considerable research expertise in the field of stalking and other forms of violence. In addition, she has led several national and international research projects with regard to road victims, protection orders, complaints officers and property offences. She has published extensively in both Dutch and English.
Suzan van der Aa has also held a variety of management positions, including director of a master's programme, member of INTERVICT's management team and associate dean of education at Tilburg University's Faculty of Law. Having supervised many researchers previously, she currently serves as thesis supervisor to two PhD students.
In her new position, Suzan van der Aa will have overall responsibility for and teach a course in Advanced Criminal Procedural Law, in addition to a number of other courses.
