Maike Tietschert awarded Harkness Fellowship in Health Care Policy and Practice

On 7 February 2017 Maike Tietschert, PhD candidate at the department of Health Services Research, successfully defended her application for a Harkness Fellowship in Health Care Policy and Practice.

The Commonwealth Fund's Harkness Fellowships in Health Care Policy and Practice provide a unique opportunity for mid-career health services researchers and practitioners from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and the United Kingdom to spend up to 12 months in the United States as a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice.

In the coming months Maike will complete her dissertation after which she will be placed at one of America’s leading universities to continue and intensify her work on improving care integration from the patients’ perspective.

As a Fellow, Maike will work with leading U.S. health policy experts to study health care delivery reforms and critical issues on the health policy agenda in both the U.S. and the Netherlands.

Throughout the year the Fund organises a rich programme of seminars to further enhance the fellowship experience.
