INKOM 2022: The Sky is the Limit

For five days, from Monday 22 August to Friday 26 August, students can again participate in the INKOM, a varied introduction program that introduces them to each other and the city. The INKOM is the official introduction program of Maastricht University and Zuyd Hogeschool. For freshmen it is a festive start of a hopefully unforgettable student time in Maastricht. After two INKOM editions with restrictive corona measures, the freshmen can now discover all that Maastricht has to offer. The Sky is the Limit!

Program

Monday is the kick-off with a large information market. In the evening follows the official opening of the INKOM at the Tapijnkazerne with all sorts of fun performances. Besides the daily introductory activities at the student associations, there are workshops, city walks and workouts (at the University Sports Center). Most of the big outdoor activities, like the Culture Carnival on Tuesday, take place around the Tapijnkazerne. The big SportsEvent, also on Tuesday, takes place on the Griend. During the Festival on Wednesday, student organizations and associations present themselves while enjoying music and drinks. In the evening, the stand-up comedy act 'Stranger Things Have Happened' can be seen, while there is also a Pub Crawl at that time. On Thursday, the Geusseltbad will be renamed Aqua Lounge for the occasion. For the Master students there will be a separate event this day with various workshops and a dinner. In the meantime, the students can barbecue at the Tapijnkazerne and then finish (only 18+'ers) with a Cantus in the MECC. For the students who do not go to the Cantus, there is a movie and Disco Bowling. The week ends on Friday in a Burgundian way with, among other things, Tasty Maastricht, where local restaurants offer a lunch with a drink for a lower price. In the afternoon, students can again choose from various activities and then eat at the food truck festival Meals on Wheels on the OLV-Wal followed by an Open Air Cinema.

Set your own limits

Student life has many wonderful aspects, but it also presents special challenges, including mental and social ones. Such as the increased study pressure and transgressive behavior. Through information and workshops, this is made debatable and students are informed about the channels and resources that are available in case of problems. On Wednesday, participants can visit a special information market at the Faculty of Law.

MECC parties

Highlight for many students are the big parties in the MECC. On Tuesday night there is a lot of energy and good beats with the winner of the DJ contest that takes place before the INKOM. Followed by Fijne deuntjes, Lady Bee and the Maastricht DJ-duo Lucas & Steve. The INKOM 2022: The Sky is the Limit will be closed with Heineken Night in the MECC. Until the early morning, (end time 5.00 am!) visitors can enjoy Mr. Bermuda, Band with Benefits, La Fuente and finally DJ Admin.
