UM Star Lecture in Berlin

Maastricht University: the European University of the Netherlands

In 2017, President Macron of France called for the establishment of true European Universities, where students can study at different locations and where research is focusing on Europe. Maastricht University and seven partner universities have successfully applied to become one of the first European University alliances to realise Macron’s idea, receiving a large EU grant.

The alliance, called YUFE (Young Universities for the Future of Europe), will address European challenges such as digitalisation and regional viability in a unique way. This lecture will focus on this exciting new project that will turn Maastricht University into a true European University (lecture in English).
