Teacher development courses

Our mandatory training programme is designed in the longitudinal tracks as displayed in the figure below. All staff members start with a basic training on the principles of PBL; this training is open for teachers from all levels of experience, from PhD candidates to Professors.

After the introductory training on principles of PBL staff members with a new educational role attend the course belonging to that specific role, for example 'Small Group Teacher Training/Tutor-teaching skills', the course 'Mentoring Skills' (focusing on guiding and coaching of individuals) or the CORE training (Skills lab training). 

FHML has a strict policy regarding training academic staff in their educational roles: only qualified staff members are allowed to perform teaching tasks, therefore several role training courses are offered in a longitudinal way.
