Introduction

The 2,5 days training covers an in-depth overview of European Health Data Protection legislation, such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS) or the Clinical Trial Regulation (CTR), and how these rules interact with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as national laws.
You will also learn all technical measures that organisations can implement to better protect the privacy of research participants, patients and other stakeholders.

This specialized hands-on training enables professionals dealing with data in the healthcare sector to acquire the must-know knowledge and do’s and don’ts to successfully comply with the legal obligations on data protection in this specific sector.

Who should attend this programme?

The programme is designed for data protection professionals, lawyers and consultants from public and private sectors working in the healthcare sector; research & development teams; research institutions; hospital and healthcare companies; insurance companies, pharmaceuticals; laboratories; international organisations specialised on healthcare.

What you will learn

This training focuses on data protection requirements for research and the healthcare sector. What is the most appropriate legal basis? Which structure should I build with the other consortium members? Can an organization use health data for other research? What happens if the protocol is changed? These (and more) questions will be answered during the training by our experts.

The training provides you:

  • A thorough understanding of the research and healthcare privacy and data protection laws’ key concepts, principles and compliance requirements, highlighting how compliance obligations, within the privacy spectrum or overlapping with other obligations, potentially conflict or align;
  •  an overview of the most recent techniques to protect patients and research participants’ privacy;
  • guidance in best practice ways to successfully implement a data governance model within organisations active in the healthcare sector.
