The conference took place in Manhattan, New York and had over 1500 participants, mainly American lawyers and government officials. By introducing them to the EU system of government procurement and the efforts made by the EU to prevent anti-competitive behaviour, it is hoped that American businesses seize the opportunity to compete for procurement contracts in Europe as more competition will lead to more value for money for European public authorities.
