15th place in QS’s Top 50 Under 50

Maastricht University (UM) has come in at 15th in QS’s Top 50 Under 50, a ranking of the world’s top universities under 50 years old. It should not be confused with the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, which have the same eligibility criteria and in which UM has finished 5th this year.

The methodology is the same as in QS’s World University Rankings; it assesses universities’ performance across six indicators: academic reputation (40% of the overall score), employer reputation (10%), research citations per faculty member (20%), faculty/student ratio (20%), proportion of international students (5%), and proportion of international faculty members (5%). Maastricht University was founded in 1976.
