Juliette Koning is Professor of Business in Society and Head of the Organisation, Strategy & Entrepreneurship Department.
Juliette Koning has a background in social anthropology (PhD, University of Amsterdam) from which she investigates the role and meaning of religion, ethnicity, kinship, identity, ethics, relationality, gender, and generations for organizational leadership, business conduct, small business development and entrepreneurship. Recent research focuses on the privatization and organization of security. Some of her research is conducted in Indonesia and South Africa. Her research has been published in Organization Studies, Entrepreneurship, Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Management Learning, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development and various other outlets.
Before joining UM, Juliette Koning worked for ten years at the Business School of Oxford Brookes University (UK) and held academic posts at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Tilburg University and Wageningen University. Juliette is also Associate Editor of Human Relations.
