Why It's Time to Rethink Climate Anxiety: New Research Challenges Old Assumptions
Featuring Amy Nguyen (Ripple Research)
Sustainability Hub
Climate anxiety is a phenomenon and state of mind that many of us are familiar with. But, what even is it and what has been missing from the research on this topic? It’s time to rethink our old assumptions about climate anxiety. During this session, we will explore Ripple Research’s unique, deep social listening on this topic to uncover a new, diversified approach to climate-related mental health challenges. We’ll dissect how our learnings have informed the design of solutions that can truly make an impact. We’ll also explore how the power of student communities can help foster resilience and cultivate hope in the face of the climate crisis. The final 30 minutes of this session will transition to workshop, providing a time for conversation and exploration through a series of questions to understand what’s on YOUR mind when it comes to climate, community and mental health! Ripple Research is a Swiss data 4 good advisory firm that operates at the intersection of data science, behaviour psychology and social impact to tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
