Symposium: 'Rare Syndromes: State of the Art'

The department of Clinical Genetics of Maastricht UMC+ is very pleased to invite you to the symposium ‘Rare Syndromes: State of the Art’, that will take place on Thursday June 9th, 2016.

On June 9th, 2016 the department of Clinical Genetics will organize the symposium State of the Art. Medicine is both art and science: experience and evidence complement each other. Genetics has undergone rapid development in recent decades. This symposium will give you a state of the art overview of all the beauty that genetics nowadays has to offer. Not only will we look ahead, but there is also a moment to look back at how we got to this point in Maastricht. In the past 30 years, under the inspired leadership of prof. Connie Stumpel, MD, PhD, the outpatient clinical genetics was build. With an eye for detail she led the outpatient clinic with a love of art combined with the love for science. It grew into a thriving and bustling department.
And now we face the next challenge: connecting in expertise between departments, different centers and countries under her leadership. This symposium will hopefully inspire you for the next big steps in genetic care we are facing nowadays.
