“Pharmacy Preparations; European quality standards and regulation”

Keywords: medicines; pharmaceutical industry, pharmacists, European legislation

Many patients benefit from medicines made by the pharmaceutical industry. Sometimes, however, patients have special medical needs for which there is no medicine on the market. Medicines made by a pharmacist are a social necessity, assuming that the pharmacist in question meets the regulations governing quality and safety. This study also focused on the hazards of high-risk medicines in hospitals. Rules for quality and safety have been adopted at the Council of Europe for these medicines. Hospital pharmacists can play an important role in this. Additional research was carried out to study European legislation for making medicines in pharmacies. In the interest of the patients, we are calling for a change in the relevant European legislation.
