"Spect imaging of cardiovascular neovascularization"

Key words: SPECT, blood vessels, diagnose, treatment

In this PhD project, a lot of time was spent using the SPECT imaging technique. The administration of specific radioactive substances known as tracers can help us examine various biological processes in the body. New tracers for imaging blood vessels were successfully tested. The formation of new blood vessels is extremely important to the recovery process following a heart attack. In the future, these new tracers could help doctors and researchers diagnose conditions at an earlier stage and carefully monitor the therapy-induced recovery of blood flow.
