In the context of the bachelor course IP in the Digital Single Market and the Intellectual Property and Knowledge Management (IPKM) master programme, we proudly present the expert lecture by Mr. René Otto on 22 September 2022, at 18:30 CEST in the Statenzaal, Faculty of Law. You will learn about the video game industry and specific legal (copyright) challenges. Feel warmly invited to join the discussion in the Statenzaal!

Abstract

René Otto will discuss "Playing with copyrights: an introduction to the video game industry and its legal aspects".

The video game industry is larger than the music and film industry combined. Despite the fact that the industry is the largest entertainment sector, there is still little attention for the legal challenges specific for video games. In this lecture, René will not only introduce you to the video game industry, but also some legal (copyright) challenges.
