"Even goed, met minder"

"Just as good, with less" has been the basis of what drives me as an oncologic surgeon for years. Why? Because precisely in the oncology angle, treatments are more likely to be added, rather than subtracted. And that in the light of such a package deal treatment, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish the benefit in terms of survival and quality of life of the separate components. That's what our research is trying to figure out.

But "just as good with less" is about so much more. About how we have gone overboard in perfecting research. And that it is brave to do less. And how we just can't seem to get people to get sick less often. A tip of the hat: healthy lifestyle is extremely important here. I'm going to show exactly how the health care infarct will come about if we don't take radical measures aimed at healthy lifestyle very soon. How bad such a health care infarct is? Think of a supertanker and the delta works... A lot of things can be reduced. But not everything, of course.
